- Description: This evergreen perennial native to tropical West Africa and Nigeria, is a great addition to any office or household as a natural air purifier. Snake plants have strong and sturdy, sword shaped leaves which are drought tolerant and retains the plants water. This plant can be easily propagated by leaf cuttings so you can multiply your family of snake plants or give them away as a gift. This particular variety will have its definitive dark green pattern towards the middle of each stalk.
- Care: Sansevieria prefers many bright, indirect sunlight, but it also tolerates different lighting conditions. Deep shade, however, can make the leaves darker. Avoid harsh direct sun to prevent scorching leaves.
Sansevieria needs watering about once per week. Only water when the soil is dry to the touch. Drain well after each watering. Water more in the growing season (spring/summer)and less in the cold months.
The best soil for this plant is well-drained, porous potting soil that can promote healthy root development. A sandy succulent potting soil mix is ideal for this plant .
This plant grows best in normal room temperatures (between 60°F-75°F). This plant does not grow well when the temperature drops below 50°F. This Plant thrives in normal indoor humidity, avoid putting this plant in spots with high humidity.
This plant should be fertilized once per month during the growing season (spring/summer) with diluted houseplant fertilizer.
This plant is mildly toxic if ingested, so keep it out of reach of pets and children.
