Administrative Professionals’ Week originated in 1952 when National Secretaries Week was first recognized by the International Association of Administrative Professionals during the last full week of April, and the Wednesday of that week became known as the unofficial Secretaries’ Day. In the year 2000, the name of the holiday was changed to Administrative Professionals’ Week/Day in order to keep pace with the modern-day administrative workforce and the ever changing responsibilities and job titles.
